Gumlink onboard the Social Media trend 

The Gum Revolution is Gumlink's new online campaign, positioned to recruit consumers and involve them in its' new developments via social media platforms
 

For a while Gumlink has been investigating the new exciting opportunities that have become available as a result of the explosive development in online communication. Especially the world of Social Media has been in focus. Due to the extreme flexibility and numerous versatile platforms that the social media wave has to offer, it is not a question of; should we be a part of it? – but instead; how to be a part of it. Thus many experts advise that each company has to take a position in regards to Social Media; be part of it - or don’t.

The beauty of Social Media platforms is that they create unique forums where end users can voice their opinions about a product or service for everyone to see. In comparison to traditional advertising channels, such user driven forums are perceived in a much more credible light.

As Gumlink is in the Business-to-Business area, there are no brands or products to promote. The way in which Gumlink can utilize social media is therefore slightly different. In order to harness the advantages of social media, Gumlink will instead be using it as a testing ground from which new nutraceutical chewing gum concepts designed by Gumlink, based on the patented Multi-Layer compressed gum technology can be tested.

The Gum Revolution is a completely new platform, where people can sign up to receive samples of our latest chewing gum concepts, and afterwards these people will send feedback on their overall experience. Essentially, the Gum Revolution is a channel through which Gumlink can perform consumer tests on the exact target group for a specific chewing gum concept. However, due to the Social Media integration, it becomes much more than a consumer test, it becomes a forum where the users can interact with each other and share their experience with each other and their friends. 

The concept that, will kick-start the Gum Revolution project is called Study Gum. It will be targeted towards College and University students initially in the US, and includes a significant dose of Caffeine and L-theanine, which have been shown to boost one’s capacity to concentrate and maintain focus – a perfect sidekick for any student.

The Gum Revolution will be officially launched and promoted to the public on June 20th, 2011. More details to come.
