Research and development

Our unique expertise within research and development has placed us in a leading position within the chewing gum industry.
Innovation strategy
Our innovation strategy has been designed to develop our position as The World’s First Choice, by challenging ourselves and our partners to produce new ground-breaking initiatives. Within the R&D department, we focus on three primary areas:
  • Researching and developing ground-breaking initiatives
  • Developing market and production-ready products
  • Enhancing our knowledge platform: scientific background and support function

Short and long-term research and development
A partnership with Gumlink means having access to a product development that closely follows the market as well as the opportunity to be first to market with the chewing gum innovations of tomorrow.

  • We work with the scientific background as well as long-term and ground-breaking projects
  • We translate customer wishes into market-ready products, using knowledge gained from the partnership with our sister company Fertin Pharma, our suppliers and research centres

These activities ensure that we continue to offer a broad range of chewing gum products that match current trends, customer needs and consumer preferences, both now and in the future.

Knowledge sharing and international network
Within the Gumlink development department, we actively work with knowledge building and sharing along with international network. We share our knowledge and skills with each other and with our partners.
Internally, we create project groups using people from across the entire organisation as well as people from our sister company Fertin Pharma. This ensures that all projects and plans can be carried out to the satisfaction of our customers and our company.
Externally, we work closely with leading specialists, knowledge centres, institutes and suppliers within the areas of raw material and machinery. Gumlink also plays an active role in all ICGA (International Chewing Gum Association) working groups.
